THE CASTAWAY KING CHRONICLES
AFTER THE DARK
Pil Persins has never seen the sky. He has never felt the fall of rain or seen the stars on a dark night. For thousands of years Elfin have lived underground, hidden away from the dangers of their world. The coming of the sun above ground means death; monsters awaken and predators hunt.
But it is a small price to pay for freedom. At least that is how Pil and his two best friends, Felicity Falon and Dunken Dirk, see it. And that path to freedom is to become an Exidite–a brave band of underground warriors who are allowed out during the night to search for supplies and, if necessary, confront their enemies.
But the world above ground is far different than Pil and his friends could have ever imagined. The bright purple sky and the thick forests hide beings far worse than their worst nightmares. Yet they persevere, hoping to find some light in the everlasting darkness, some truth in the lies and treachery of their enemies and, in some cases, their friends.
Life or death. Freedom or slavery. Love or betrayal. There is no room in between this war of darkness and light.
"...Great story with wonderful, well developed characters. I love the personal / emotional issues they each face and will be interested to see how they work these out (along with saving the Elfin!)."

"[Labbe] did a great job building the suspense for book two. Especially toward the end (I wont spoil it for you), where he really raises the stakes. I am very much looking forward to the next book and can't wait to find out more about this world and its characters."

MIRRORS OF EDEN
Is the second installment of The Castaway King Chronicles series. It continues the adventurous story of Pil Persins and his brave Elfin friends. Book II: Mirrors of Eden released May 7, 2019 and is now available in print as an ebook and audiobook.
The Afterdark world of Haven was far more terrible and beautiful than Pil Persins could ever have expected. Not everyone had survived the mission aboveground, but Pil and his friends returned back to Westleton, a little scarred perhaps, but safe and alive.
But in their absence, the world underground had begun to change—Southden was taken by a mysterious enemy and the home they had known would never be the same again.
A war is brewing on their borders and at the center of it all, the Castaway King.
The Exidite need to know what is going on in Southden. They need to know the Castaway King’s plan. And for that, they need Pil.
But Pil will have to use every ounce of cunning, strength, and magic he has if he intends to survive. In the midst of enemies, traitors, monsters, and even the Castaway King himself—nothing is more important than keeping his secrets close, and his friends alive.
